Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the world’s first smartphone with optical fingerprint recognition

samsungThere is expectation that Samsung will announce its latest flagship device Samsung Galaxy S8 with “full-screen” display and it will be curved on the top and bottom edges as well. There is also information that it will be the world’s first smartphone to feature optical fingerprint recognition technology. Such technology will replace the fingerprint scanner placed below the home button. For your information, an optical fingerprint scanner works when the finger is placed on a glass plate, or in a smartphone’s case, on the glass display. If we believe on all these then, it will be the first smartphone to feature optical fingerprint recognition, which will make it more accurate as well as faster than ultrasonic fingerprint recognition.

According to leaked details on Weibo, the Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.5-inch 4K (2160×3840 pixels) Super AMLOED display with pixel density of 806ppi, 6GB RAM and it will be powered by the own-home made Exynos 8895 SoC chipset. Galaxy S8 will come with 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual-rear camera setup. The camera on the Galaxy S8 is believed to click decent images in low-light. It will come with bezel-less design. It will be announced in February, 2017.
